Why Most People Are Idiots And Live Like They Will Never Die (Don’t Be One!)

Don’t be an idiot.

Most people haven’t a clue what wealth is really about. Most people would reject a job that pays $1.59 per hour and yet, when it comes to wasting time for stuff that doesn’t matter, everyone values their free time at just that, FREE, or virtually worthless. Time is limited. Money is unlimited. Spend wisely my friend.

First of all…those people = CRAZY!!!!  Thank you for this video!  ”My life is worth more.  My time is worth more.”  Love it!

I am reading your book for a second time and have started implementing fastlane strategies.  Thank you for taking the time to write The Millionaire Fastlane.Jennifer

Stare at the pic of people standing in line for Wendy’s and play this sound to yourself: http://www.sheep.com/sounds/baaaa.wav Seems fitting, doesn’t it!

MJ, great videos thanks for posting these . One question, I have been told that it is not the business you enter…it is the approach or application you take. What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree?

You are so right about the people who would waste time in a line like that. I have always told my son that the most valuable thing in the world is time because you can always make more money but once time is gone you will never get it back.
Along that same route my son’s teacher has a saying on the wall that goes”Excuses are the bricks that built the house of failure”  and he  reminds them of it every day. God ,I love that saying and would add procrastination must be the cement that holds the bricks.
Bottom line action speaks louder than words and Fortune Favors the Bold. M.J. your da goods and thanks for being bold.
By the way what does M.J. stand for?

I think In and Out Burger is worthy of a case study.  If you can cultivate your customers to be as dedicated as those waiting to get into In and Out Burger for your own business, success is virtually guaranteed.

One of my favorite mentors, Dan Kennedy actually has a literal, physical death clock.

He has input his age into it and based on the average life span it’s counting backwards how much time he has to live. Now I don’t think he takes this seriously. It’s more of a psychological trigger to remind him that times ticking down and to make the most of what he’s got.

For anyone looking for some kick ass guidelines on how to use your time, his No B.S. Time Management book is outstanding. If you want to go deeper, you’ll for sure want to check out his Renegade Time Management course you can buy at his site.

    I don’t know how I missed this video. It’s a classic!

People do the same thing with gas stations where I live in Los Angeles. There were a group of girls that drove 2o minutes out the way to go to a gas station that was 10 cents cheaper than the one down the street.

The car they were in only held about 14 gallons, so that’s a saving of $1.40 if there fuel was on “E” and they filled it up.

But they actually did not save any money at all because the fuel wasted driving there and back probably ate up $5-$10.

You probably could sell “death clocks” as a Fastlane venture!

one of your best video,  MJ .  I think your entire philosophy is here.

your book is THE best book on financial success available out there

    MJ,
Your video is exactly what people need to hear. I feel the same way about the value of our time. My wife insists on waiting in line at Costco for gas and it drives me  crazy! I’ve tried to explain that she is basically trading her time for a few pennies. She will wait for 30 minutes to get gas in order to save less that $1. That’s insane!!

I like this video. I think you hit some important points that are often overlooked. But I am wondering one thing: once you have all this free time to spend in your life, the only thing you should sensibly do is the things you like, the activities that provide you with pleasure. If standing in line for an hour provides these people pleasure, on what grounds may I say that this is an illegitimate use of their time? I can claim this no better that I can claim that this or that person uses his time wrong for he is reading the wrong book, or eating at the wrong restaurant, or listening to the wrong song. Why should these people be called idiots simply because they value different things than I do?

[...] Why would you not consider your time valuable when it comes to preparing your tax return? @MJDeMarco  describes the value of time best is his book The Millionaire Fastlane. You may also want to check out this video describing some peoples’ udder disregard for their time. [...]

I understand your point but the answer lies behind the motive. TIME is in limited supply — their motives are to SAVE MONEY, not enjoyment.  I can totally understand camping out at a Best Buy for the next Warcraft release as that is somewhat of a social event and can be classified as “enjoyment” for the gamers.   There is a difference.  Thanks for stopping by.

If you are so worried about running out of time, you all should invest in transhumanism research.
