Blockbuster Video got what they deserved. That’s what happens when you care more about money than your customers. The people will rise against you and jump ship.

Myspace is the same way. When Tom owned Myspace, the website had a really friendly feel too it which is why people loved it. Then some “big time” investors bought it for $500 Mill and turned the website into a circus so everybody jumped to Facebook.

Based on your book, the first time you sold your Limo website, the same thing happened and they ended up selling it back to you for only a couple hundred thousand.

Greedy business owners open the door to new opportunity everyday. U-HAUL is a rip off too. Why do they charge their customers to use a dolly? That should be standard equipment. Hah

Totally agree … You are describing a degradation of the stakeholder chain which I wrote about here …

    http://www.fastlaneentrepreneurs.com/2010/where-does-fanatical-customer-service-start-and-end/

Invariably, anytime the investors/pe/vc guys come in, the stakeholder chain changes. With those changes, the main focus from the customer changes, to profit. Even Facebook now is experiencing these pains as many people are complaining about how it is operated (i.e privacy) and this exposes the opportunity.

I wish you ordered via Viperion — you could have had it in a few days. A man from New Zealand ordered and said it only took him 4 days to receive it. Darn Amazon! Thanks for being patient with them.

    MJ,

Good Common sense tip on finding opportunities. It’s amazing the tools we have at our disposal. Years ago that kind of market research and discovery would have cost thousands of dollars.

Love the blog post. It’s wild to see how many businesses were built out of want to fill a bitch of some one

    Thanks!

Great point. I’d also add “I wish”, “I’d love” and “I want”. Any other phrases?

    Well done my friend.
That is a very good idea :). I think I’ll try it for my niche in order to think up new products/services.

I’d like to complain about that duck-Bill haircut. Also, there are many companies that will do just packing….I hired a few….and fired a few. The moving business is VERY cutthroat, almost as bad as the towing business.
